Nominet UK Domain Registrant Validation Emails - Your domain registration - additional action required (case ######)

As per their terms & conditions, Nominet UK (the domain registry responsible for the .UK name space) attempt to validate the details they have been given for all registrants, for both companies and individuals. This process is automatically initiated any time a new domain is registered, or the ownership or contact details of a registrant are updated.

If Nominet are unable to verify the contact details they have been given, they will send an email out to the Registrant as follows:

From: serviceapplications@nominet.org.uk
Subject: Your domain registration - additional action required (case #######)

The email will look like this:

If you receive an email like the above, please read it carefully and follow the steps outlined.

Verifying Details

In the first instance, verify that the Registrant Name + Address are 100% accurate.

- For companies, the registrant name must match the entry at Companies House exactly, including spaces & punctuation.

- For individuals, you must use your full name and provide a real address, even if you elect to opt-out of making your contact details available on the whois database (which you can do as an individual).

If you need to correct the details that have been provided, you can log in to Nominet Online Services site using the email address that they sent the notification to at https://secure.nominet.org.uk/auth/login.html

If the details Nominet have listed in their email are correct, then you will need to provide proof directly to Nominet to confirm the details are legitimate.

You can do this by replying to their email and attaching a copy of a government issued document such as a Passport or Driving License for individuals, or a certificate of incorporation or HMRC form containing your details.

Important

Please ensure that you carry out this step within 14 days, otherwise your domain may be suspended and eventually deleted which will stop all email + website services from operating.

We are unable to carry out these steps on your behalf, as the data validation process must be handled directly with Nominet UK.  If you require any support regarding this validation process, please use the contact details provided on the email Nominet send you.
