This guide walks you through adding your mailbox to the Gmail app on any modern Android tablet. It uses secure IMAP and SMTP settings with full SSL/TLS encryption.


1. Open Gmail and Add Your Account

  • Open the Gmail app.
  • Tap your profile icon in the top‑right corner.
  • Choose Add another account.
  • Select Other.

2. Enter Your Email Address

  • Type your full email address (example: name@customerdomain.co.uk).
  • Tap Next.
  • Choose Personal (IMAP).

3. Enter Your Password

  • Type your mailbox password.
  • Tap Next.

4. Incoming Mail Settings (IMAP)

Fill in the following:

Username Your full email address
Password Your mailbox password
IMAP server c-sbh-mail1.sbhdns.com
Port 993
Security type SSL/TLS (not StartTLS)

Tap Next.


5. Outgoing Mail Settings (SMTP)

Enter the outgoing server details:

Port 465
Security type SSL/TLS
Require sign‑in Yes
Username Your full email address
Password Your mailbox password

Tap Next.


6. Account Options

Choose your preferred sync settings:

  • How often to check for new mail
  • Whether to receive notifications
  • Whether to sync email for this account

Tap Next.


7. Final Details

  • Enter an Account name (optional — this is just for your device).
  • Enter the Name you want to appear on outgoing emails.
  • Tap Next to finish.

Your mailbox will now start syncing.
