October 2026: Small Business Email

(Latest) 21 October 2026 09:00am:

We are happy to confirm the deduplication process is complete and mailboxes are in full working order. Please allow email clients some time to catch up.

Please see our Getting Started page for more information on guides and troubleshooting steps if you are still unable to connect to your mailbox:

20 October 2026 12:00pm:

We are making good progress with the deduplication process. In addition to the new and updated guides for iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Android published this morning, we have also updated guides for Outlook for Windows.

20 October 2026 10:00am:

We have been working on the duplicate data issue some customers are having as a result of the data migration process, we have discovered that sync jobs had stopped and restarted from scratch resulting in multiple copies of some emails. We apologise for the inconvenience this may be causing but we are working on a solution. As you can imagine, this is an incredibly delicate task and we need to ensure no data is lost as part of the deduplication process.

19 October 2026 14:30pm:

We now have under 30 mailboxes that are still showing as partially synced across from our old platform with an estimate of around 3 hours left to complete. If any old emails are missing please monitor them across the course of the afternoon.

How to fix desktop or mobile email client issues:

If you are unable to connect using desktop/mobile email clients like Samsung Mail, Outlook, or Thunderbird, from our testing this will be because your client is configured to use unencrypted connection methods.

Please check against the settings in the guides below and correct them:

Small Business Email Device Setup Guides - https://www.smallbusiness.host/clients/knowledgebase/27/Device-Setup-Guides

Please note that if your email client is using an <server>.sbhdns.com server name, we would recommend updating it to mail.<yourdomain> if you can, but for some email clients that prevent changing server name, the old server name fine to keep for now.

19 October 2026 10:20am:

We have added a redirect to webmail to fix old links. You may still wish to update your bookmark as per the details below.

19 October 2026 09:30am:

Good morning. We apologise for any disruption caused by our urgent migration of one of our SmarterMail servers to our Small Business Email platform last night. If you are unable to log into webmail

Webmail changes:

Our new Small Business Email platform allows custom webmail, so please try visiting https://mail.<yourdomain> (e.g. if your email address ends in clientdomain.co.uk, please try https://mail.clientdomain.co.uk). Old links will continue to work.

If your DNS service is not hosted with us, we will however have not been able to activate this for you. In that case, please continue using your old webmail link for the time being.

Webmail Error: 404 Not Found

If you are seeing the error 404 Not Found, please try using your customised webmail URL, or edit your bookmark for webmail and remove anything after .com (e.g. https://c-sbh-mail1.sbhdns.com/interface/root#/login should be changed to https://c-sbh-mail1.sbhdns.com to remove anything after the .com).
