Due to a bug in the most recent SmarterMail build we installed over the weekend, some customers who connect with IMAP had issues sending or receiving emails with attachments that took the email above a certain size. Webmail and POP were unaffected.
We have had to revert to the previous build which resulted in less than 5 minutes of downtime this evening, and we will be monitoring SmarterMail updates for a fix for this so we can jump back up to the latest version as soon as possible.
Inbound emails during this brief period of downtime were queued up waiting on our spam filtering servers, and we apologise for the disruption this may have caused.
Update 20260220: We have now upgraded SmarterMail to the latest build and this issue appears to be resolved.
